Greetings from the #NADTA2020 Program ChairDear Life Influencers,Do you remember the moment when you found out about Drama Therapy? Or hearing about that “thing” that people do? Does it bring you joy knowing the Drama Therapist in the next seat “gets you”? That they too understand your love for both theatre and healing. For me, it’s like finding a second home in this community full of people who share our passion. And with a whole family geeking out about it! Still, I am astonished and humbled by the passion and creativity of all the proposals submitted for #NADTA2020 conference. Even now it brings me back to my days as a first-time conference attendee and the beauty of being exposed to the unfamiliar. I continue to be awed by the hard work and innovations of our field while looking forward to learning from each of you. With that, I would like to take a moment to give thanks to the team whose work made this conference possible. They have been the pillars of this event during months of planning and have witnessed the growth of our community during this challenging year. And though we have yet to formally meet in person, Rachel Brousseau, Alexis Maron, and Rachel Lee Soon, it has truly been my pleasure to collaborate with you during these interesting times. Without your dedication, none of this would be possible. I hope you are all equally excited about the new connections (wifi, brain neurons, emails, friendships, and all) that we are going to make in the next 4 days. 2020 is a year of struggle, adaptation, and innovation. It is time to have fun. Have lots of fun! Warmly,
Diana Chu, 2020 Program Chair |
