Proposal Submission Rubric
Please make sure you carefully read through the submission form in order to understand what will be required for all presenters.
YOUR WORKSHOP PROPOSAL WILL BE SCORED ACCORDING TO THE CRITERIA BELOW FOR A TOTAL OF 60 POINTS:
I.Diversity The proposal demonstrates an awareness of diversity and/or the need for curricular diversification in one or more of the following ways (10 points total):
- Respectful awareness of the diversity of personal identities across, for example: culture, race, age, SES, health/ability status, gender identification, sexual orientation, religion, etc.
- Awareness of social context, including dynamics of power, privilege, and the impacts of systemic oppression.
- Awareness of diverse perspectives regarding thematic content or the applicability of an approach to different populations.
- Awareness of regional concerns or voices.
- Awareness of the learning needs of membership/attendees with diverse points of professional focus and at different stages of their careers.
II.Conference Theme The proposal addresses the conference theme either directly or indirectly in a manner that is valuable and significant to the community (10 points).
III.Creativity The proposal is creative and innovative in its conception and design, utilizing a blend of information and artistry in its engagement of participants (10 points).
IV.Relevance The proposal addresses themes of current relevance and significance to the community, or a discernible group within the community (10 points).
V.Practice / Theoretical The proposal contributes to the field of drama therapy in one or more of the following ways (10 points total):
- It demonstrates, educates, or expands on existing bodies of drama therapy theory or practice.
- It advances the continuing evolution of drama therapy and the emergence of new and innovative approaches to theory and practice within the field.
- It bridges ideas or praxis from other disciplines to the field of drama therapy in a meaningful way.
- It extends the application of drama therapy and its benefits to new or underserved sectors.
VI. Intent / Scope The intent and scope of the proposal are clearly defined and adequately focused (10 points).
Virtual Considerations
The presenter listed as the primary will have to have a Zoom account to create a link for the session
- The link will be shared with NADTA and provided to attendees.
- Presenters will have a NADTA volunteer to assist with time, but it is the responsibility of the presenter to abide by the time frame for the session.
- If you do not have a Zoom Account, a link for your session will be provided.
Presenters are encouraged to make the room monitor a co-host, to assist with allowing people in the space.
Please note, for purposes of time, that information concerning CEs will be shared at the start of the session.
Please note, at this time, we do not have the ability to provide technical assistance during the presentation.
Submission Note
The information you input in your proposal will appear on the online program if your proposal is selected. You must also update your profile information (name, bio, credentials) as that will be added in the program as well.
All sessions will be 90-minutes (1.5 Hours) length.
The proposal submission deadline is Friday, April 18th, 2025, at 11:59 pm EST.

Continuing Education (CE)

NADTA Conference sessions may be accepted for the following types of Continuing Education:
- NADTA RDT/BCT/CHED CE Hours
- LCAT CE Hours North American Drama Therapy Association (NADTA) has been approved to provide continuing education to LCATs in New York State. Provider Number: #CAT-0027.
- NBCC CE Hours North American Drama Therapy Association (NADTA) has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6819. Programs that do not qualify for National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) credit are clearly identified. NADTA is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
Please contact your licensing or credentialing organization to ask if they will accept these CE Hours

Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit or NYS LCAT credit will be identified in the schedule. Instructions will be given at the conference for the procedures to follow in order to obtain CE Hours. Please note that you must request your NBCC or LCAT Certificate within 30 days after the conference. |
